• Working with units across campus, the Office of Community Engagement has helped create greater visibility, coordination and consistency across Brown’s growing K–12 partnerships. This includes supporting communication among campus partners, identifying opportunities to streamline engagement, and helping ensure that efforts are responsive to the needs and priorities of school and youth-serving organizations.

• The Assistant Dean for Equity Initiatives and K-12 Partnerships role, dually reporting to the Division of Pre-College and Office of Community Engagement, expanded focus on coordination of K–12 engagement across the institution, strengthening alignment among campus partners, enhancing collaboration with local schools and youth-serving organizations and supporting a more strategic and cohesive approach to K-12 partnerships. (Inclusive Pathways, Teaching and Learning, Research)
• The Coordinated Consultation Model for K–12 Engagement establishes a structured process for aligning campus partners with local schools and youth-serving organizations, ensuring that engagement efforts are collaborative, responsive to school and community priorities and coordinated to maximize impact while reducing duplication across the University. This consultation model has been launched with the Providence Public School District but will be more fully socialized across campus. (Inclusive Pathways)
• Departments across Brown University partner with PrepareRI to provide high school students with paid internships that offer hands-on, real-world experiences. Through these opportunities, students build valuable workplace skills, explore potential career paths, and gain meaningful professional experience while contributing to projects across the University. • The Community Engagement Council's K–12 Partnerships Committee convenes staff representing more than 15 K–12 programs and initiatives across Brown to strengthen coordination, collaboration, and strategic alignment. Through monthly meetings, ongoing communication, and streamlined intake and sponsorship processes, the committee has created a more cohesive infrastructure that supports campus-wide collaboration and fosters mutually beneficial partnerships with Providence and Rhode Island school communities. 
• The CEC K-12 Partnerships Committee continues to identify opportunities to support shared priorities, strengthen coordination, and foster collaboration across K-12 partnership initiatives, such as College Day at Brown, the Brown Collegiate Scholars Program, STEM Day, Pre-College summer programming, the Hope High School Redesign, and pathway programs. 
• The K-12 Engagement Intake Form allows community members to share information about their current or desired engagement with K-12 stakeholders.
• Brown helps address community priorities around college access by providing on-campus academic and enrichment opportunities for K–12 students. Through Brown Summer High School courses in English, mathematics, science, and social studies, Pre-College programs serving approximately 6,000 students each summer, and annual events such as College Day at Brown and STEM Day that engage more than 500 local students, the University introduces young people to college life, academic pathways, and campus resources while helping them envision higher education as an attainable goal.
• Known K–12 programs and initiatives across Brown University have been documented in Salesforce, creating a centralized system for tracking program information, departmental involvement, community partnerships, target populations, and points of contact.

• Brown continues to invest in PPSD student success through the Fund for the Education of the Children of Providence.

• K-12 Education Hub is a resource for local K-12 youth and families to connect with Brown's programs. This resource is live and will be updated and further socialized this spring.

• Science Teacher Forums offer CEUs to local K-12 science teachers. The inaugural forum was on Dec. 11, 2025.
